About the author
Juan Martín Figini is an author and consultant who has devoted his career to the understanding and development of human beings in society.
He is the author of a series of innovative theories that offer an original model about the functioning of the mind and its effects on the particular manifestation of each human system at the level of beliefs, thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and social relationships.
He published the first version of the Mental Systems Theory in 2012. This theory has been expanded and modified, resulting in a more comprehensive and exhaustive edition, published in 2018.
He has also published a series of books in Spanish that are being translated into English, such as the Social Systems Theory and the Decision Systems Theory.
He has developed the Mental Systems Engineering, a discipline that enables to understand and to operate on the mental system, in order to align the human systems’ belief structure with their desired state.
As a consultant, he has designed and applied several training programs based on the Mental Systems Engineering, such as “Conscious Leadership,” “Mental Training for Athletes,” “Vocational Development,” and “Personal Evolution.”
He worked as a Consultant for Manchester Business School, The University of Manchester, UK. He has developed and delivered several educational programs for the British Council, such as “Successful Teamwork” and “Words create Worlds.”
He has a Degree in Political Science from Saint Andrew's University (Argentina). His degree thesis, titled: Alienation in Rousseau: Social Criticism and Pedagogical Project, received from the academic jury of Saint Andrew's University the maximum score of ten points. He also studied the International Relations Degree in that university.
He is the author of the book Rousseau: alienación, falsa identidad y el rol social del líder consciente (“Rousseau: alienation, false identity and the social role of the conscious leader”).
He was granted a complete scholarship by the Case Western Reserve University, USA, where he obtained the Post-graduate Degree: Appreciative Inquiry Certificate in Positive Business and Society Change.
He has a Post-graduate Degree in Models and Tools of Ontological Coaching from the University of Buenos Aires (Argentina), and a Post-graduate Degree in Techniques and Dynamics of Coaching Intervention from the University of Buenos Aires (Argentina). He holds a Master’s Degree in Neuro-Linguistic Programming, from the Southern Institute of NLP, The Society of NLP, International NLP (USA). He received the International Certificate in Coaching from the International Coaching Community (ICC), where he was evaluated and approved by Joseph O'Connor. He was certified in the Fundamental Course and the Advance Level of the Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), from the EFT Certificate of Completion Program (USA).
He also studied the courses: “Phenomenology of intersubjectivity and its importance for the understanding of mental illness,” Faculty of Philosophy, Catholic University (Argentina); “I, subject and identity; the birth of these concepts in the modern ages (XVII and XVIII centuries),” Faculty of Philosophy, Catholic University (Argentina); “The way of being of the human subject in the philosophy of Kant and Hegel,” Faculty of Philosophy, Catholic University (Argentina).
Currently, he is developing a series of books based on the Mental Systems Theory and the Social Systems Theory, with application in different areas of the humanities and social disciplines, such as the Educational Systems Theory and the Political Systems Theory.
